XVIII Adriatic and Ionian Council – Brussels 13 May 2015

The XVIII Adriatic and Ionian Council, closing the yearly Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will take place in Brussels on 13 May 2015 at the premises of the Representation of the State of Baden-Wüttemberg to the European Union.

The meeting will be an occasion to further stress the role of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative as the "intergovernmental anchorage " of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) that entered its implementation phase after the endorsement by the EU Council on 24 October 2014 and its "Launch Event" on 18 November 2014 .

A joint lunch of EUSAIR Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (that will meet later in the afternoon)at the presence of Commissioner Cretu will stress the importance of finding synergies among EU Macroregional Strategies.
