Slovenian Ambassador in Rome visits the AII Permanent Secretariat

On Tuesday 11 September, the traditional meeting between the Ambassador of the AII Presidency in Italy (currently Amb. Iztok Mirosić of Slovenia) and the AII PS Secretary General took place in Ancona at the Cittadella.

After meeting the Secretary General Amb. Pigliapoco, Amb. Mirosić had a short exchange of views with the representatives of the three regional Fora having seat in Ancona, namely Rector Marco Pacetti (UniAdrion), President Rodolfo Giampieri (AI Forum of Chambers of Commerce), Mr. Michele Brisighelli (AI Forum of Cities and Towns). Furthermore, Counselor Adriano Cardogna (Region Marche) participated to the meeting because of his engagement in the protection of the marine environment of the Adriatic Sea.

The main topic of the meeting has been the EU Strategy for the Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region and next steps ahead for its approval which is also the main priority of the AII Slovenian Chairmanship. Next Monday (September 17th) the Ministry of Environment of Slovenia will organize in Portorož the "Third Workshop on Maritime Affairs in the Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region.

The representatives of the Adriatic Ionian Fora assured their support to the AII Slovenian Chairmanship and asked Amb. Mirosić his assistance in involving more Slovenian partners in their organizations.

At the end of the meeting Amb. Mirosić and Amb. Pigliapoco were received by the President of Region Marche Gian Mario Spacca.
