Ancona Honours Ambassador Fabio Pigliapoco, Key Figure in Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation
On 4 May 2026, the city of Ancona has posthumously awarded a civic honour to Ambassador Fabio Pigliapoco, in recognition of his outstanding diplomatic career and his significant international contribution.
The honour, conferred during the annual civic celebrations dedicated to the city’s patron saint, pays tribute to individuals who have brought prestige to Ancona through their professional and personal achievements.
In the official motivation, Ambassador Pigliapoco was remembered “for his distinguished diplomatic career and his high-level international contribution, through which he honoured Ancona. A key figure in Adriatic-Ionian cooperation, he leaves a legacy of peace and dedication to the State.”
